SK Social Strategy is a passion-project of mine two years in the making. Before we talk social strategy, let's talk a little bit about me. After all, it's important to know whose hands you're putting your own passion project into!

My name is Shaina and I have been working in the field of communications for eight years. I received my BS in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ithaca College in 2011. Right after graduating from Ithaca I vaulted into the world of communications, working first for a private pharmaceutical advertising agency and then for three years in state government in the New York State Legislature. In 2014, I began working for a non-profit organ procurement organization, where I currently oversee traditional and digital communications and community outreach initiatives. Currently, I work as a PR and Social Media Manager at a full-service advertising agency in Burlington, VT.

In 2016 I received my Masters in Public Health from the University at Albany, SUNY. The MPH allowed me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills in a field I have long been interested in - the field of health and wellness - and has also afforded me the opportunity to be able to use my current skills in communication to create healthier communities.

So what does all of this mean for you?

Over the past several years I have had experience coordinating comprehensive communications efforts for private companies, non-profit organizations, advertising agencies start-up businesses, and state agencies. This variety has helped me develop messaging that works for a variety of different audiences AND has exposed me to a variety of different communications platforms - traditional media, social media and digital channels - to most effectively convey those messages to ensure that the right people are receiving the right content.
