SK Social Strategy is a passion-project of mine two years in the making. Before we talk social strategy, let's talk a little bit about me. After all, it's important to know whose hands you're putting your own passion project into!

My name is Shaina and I have been working in the field of communications for nearly seven years. I received my BS in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ithaca College in 2011. Right after graduating from Ithaca I began my vault into the world of communications, work first for a private pharmaceutical advertising agency and then for three years in state government in the New York State Legislature. In 2014, I began working for a non-profit organ procurement organization, where I currently oversee traditional and digital communications and community outreach initiatives. 

In 2016 I received my Masters in Public Health from the University at Albany, SUNY. The MPH allowed me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills in a field I have long been interested in - the field of health and wellness - and has also afforded me the opportunity to be able to use my current skills in communication to create healthier communities.

In addition to my full-time job I also coordinate social media and communication initiatives for a small start-up company in upstate New York. 

So what does all of this mean for you?

Over the past several years I have had experience coordinating communications efforts for private companies, non-profit organizations, start-up businesses, and state agencies. This variety has helped me develop messaging that works for a variety of different audiences AND has exposed me to a variety of different media - traditional and digital - to most effectively convey those messages to ensure that the right people are receiving the right content.
